View Full Version : MOT CO Emissions too high

My MOT failed last week due to CO emissions being too high. The Lambda and Hydrocarbons were fine.

It has only had a cat on a few days and is barely driven.

It is booked back in tomorrow and I want to make sure it passes.

I have changed plugs, filter and put redex through the system.

Is there anything specific to the CO that I can do to make sure it's ready and increase pass chances?

was it a cheap cat? They're often just not up to the job. Unfortunately the most likely culprit with CO is the cat. :/

Well it's off a members system but don't think it's been through MOT with it on for a while now #dodgyc*nt.

I think if it fails again I will get them to price me up a cat and get them to fit it as it's an exhaust place anyway. I do intend to get the cat really hot before going in as it will go straight on the rollers and see if that makes a difference.
