Its probably the third brake light mate, also the number plate. get some some dening!
Also could be down to the wiper motor?!

go to b+q and buy some flashing tape think thats what its called acts as a very good sound deadener cost about £10 for 5metres

as mentioned above, but it'll be the full boot it's a saxo lol
best of sound deadening boot lid, then fill it with loft insulation, also fit some deadening to the rear of number plate, for brake light some of that draft elliminator from b/q, if you have parcel shelf in that can rattle
end of the day you will always have rattles in the car unless you fully sound dead it

not wiper motor, the boot rattle is a common sound on most mk2 saxos it seems it happens me all the time when im driving on coutry roads, sounds like the boot isnt fully latched into place, can pin point it either, i thought it was the outer black casing of the 3rd brake light so stuff tissue round it and took it for a test, but still rattled... :( any more suggested for the dreaded boot rattle?

On mine, the plastic cover underneath the window rattled, at each end there are little kinda lumps moulded in2 it to space it from the window which was causeing it to rattle, i just put this kinda thick soft tape, or a get a rubber wire/tube put a cut along the full length of it and run it along the plastic edge!
Makre sure that whats rattling first though, you should be able to rattle it by hand to check.

the latch prob is easy fix, just undo the 2 10mm bolts just move catch slightly down tighten and try, stops that problem as I had to do mine

dynamat is the industry standard, isnt that expensive and does its job it applied correctly, but it is good to use another means aswell
