Hi, last week i noticed my car was turning over very slow but still stating!. but then the starter just gave up. plus little bit of smoke from the starter motor. but now my question is. i have changed the starter motor, took the loom out to check for burnt or broken wire's. and there wasn't any. cleaned all the spade connectors and all earths but it still just clicks. is there any relays connected to it all fuse's are fine it blew a 30a in the engine bay but changed that

any help would be highly appreciated

and just to add i have used search and google for hours but cant find the same problem as mine as most i have seen has been related to the fuel pump

again thanks

Have you checked your battery to see if it could be the problem?

I would try to jump start if off the A3 instead of changing battery over, do positive to positive but do negative to engine on Saxo, this should eliminate poor connections, also have the engine running on the A3, as you connect the negative listen to the engine tone, if there is a splash & the note changes, I suspect a duff battery

Check the earth cable on the saxo, the one going to the battery and see if it's on tight.
