Looking to buy a small van, anyone recommend one? don't really have any requirements but it'll need to be ply lined, 3 seats in the front is a bonus. doesn't need to be lwb.

I was considering a transit connect, yay or nay?

I drive a transit at work, we've had a lot of trouble from it tbh. Although not a transit connect i assume they would be similar. I've have a peugeot bipper since 2009, brilliant little van imo, never given me an major problems, nice and nippy too.

My works transit connect has over 190k miles on it now with only a new clutch and top turbo pipes needing to be replaced other than the usual consumables. Spot on van tbh plenty of power and cheap parts, they do take a hell of a lot of warming up on a morning as when cold they drive wank.

Had a couple of Berlingo's in the past with the 2.0L HDi engine in, bit slow on acceleration but never had any issues with them.

the first connects are spot on tbh iv got a 2004 on 222k runs spot on

wouldnt pull you out of bed very sluggish but is a really good runner

also had a 2013 berlingo just gone back off lease

had it from 8 miles old upto 62k

it was a nice van to drive tbh and had bluetooth etc

oil level sensor went, under warrenty
seat belt sensor went so had 2 weeks of a constant beeping
however gearbox went at 46k that we had to stand because warrenty wouldnt cover 3/4th crunched into gear

but not all bad

no DMF on them thats a big bonus for a newer van

1.6 hdi 90 engine even loaded was surprisingly nippy still

3 seats but even with 2 kids in the seats its tight 2 of us squeezed init once on a shot trip but ended up getting the middle passenger to change gear lol

not abad load area

we do bouncy castles and managed to get 3 rolled up in there with all the kit
