Picked up my first saxo last week, 38k on the clock, 2 owners from new, loads of history, completely standard and mint. Got it for 200 quid as clutch was gone, 35 quid plus vat for a new mintex clutch and I have got it back on the road. Timing belt next week. I appreciate its not a vtr/s but it is exactly as it rolled out the factory, even down to the standard headunit.
I intend to keep it factory, Ive spent a lot of years modifying and all it leads to is reducing the resale value. Likely gunna have to install my bluetooth headunit though.
The only pic I have of it atm

Realistically though, you won't get more than you paid for it if you sold it. I'd mod it all you want then just scrap it when you've finished with it!

Welcome, keep it standard.

Standard is kinda going out the window, after plugging in my diagnostics and the revs showing 4025 rpm at 70 I think I'll have to swap 5th gear for that out of a diesel model to drop the revs to a more suitable level

Welcome ... a long 5th gear though on a 1l? won't that even struggle to maintain motorway speeds on level ground?
I like it, don't ruin it! not many white one's.

Don't wanna make it something it's not, it's a economical run around. However took the decelerometer for a test drive and the brakes are pulling 16% which is technically an mot fail if I wasn't a tester. Have replaced pads and discs, rear shoes and cylinders, have replaced check valve on servo vac line. Brakes still awful. Iirc my ax 3 stud pulled up a hell of a lot better. What am I missing?
