Hi guys
Was just having a gander at tax rates - there are two for the vts?!
One is euro standard 3, 201 co2 and £290 for the year.
the other is euro standard 2, 194 co2 and £265
Whats the difference?! mk1 vs mk2? thought they were the same j4!
Apart from one being called 'vts 16v' and the other being '16v vts', its all the same to me.
This is from the VCA - link from dvla website.

The banded VED rates based on CO2 emissions came in in 2001 (I think it was) when cars went onto 51 plates, before then it was upto 1400cc & above 1400cc not sure if that fits with MK1/MK2 but I think it's easier to say that anything before a 51 plate will be cheaper. I'm sure there is a gov.uk website that will tell you

Yeah i get that dude, the douchebag i bought the vts from didnt send off the log book but had a letter last week from dvla saying its on its way and they've had the application etc, wanted to check the sorn went through with it and then saw the tax and thought id have a nose.
i know about tax changing in 2001, i had an x reg 206 and mum had a 306 sw and her tax was like half mine despite being near enough the same hdi engine
i suppose you're right, it makes sense, however id clicked on 'vehicles registered after march 2001' so i was thinking there were two slightly different versions!
so yeah, tax band K at 305 a year paying direct debit, i will not feel guilty in the slightest about putting a straight through on it and getting my moneys worth lol!

Ah yes of course! 3 plugs also a bit better performance wise I imagine, if it kicks out a bit more shit?
Do they run different maps or is it just the twin lambdas as you said
