Hi everyone,

Sorry if this has been posted before but I'm new here and also a novice when it comes to car repair.
The problem I have is there is a squeaking noise coming from the engine when I start it from cold.
I know from what I have read already that it is most likely a belt.
Trouble is I can't or don't know how to identify which belt is caught problem.
I don't even know which belt is which,
All I know is its coming from the left side of the engine (As I look down on it)
I would usually just take it to a garage but funds are extremely low at the moment and I would like to learn more about fixing my own car anyway.
Any diagrams you have identifying the belts on the engine would be helpful plus best techniques on how to change the possible culprit belt would be great.
My car is a saxo 1.1
Year 2002

Hope to hear from you soon.

Will.

I haven't got around to changing it yet, my exhaust fell off the other day and need to get that sorted first :-/

Same here, stops when the engine gets warm. Weird in my case as the engine was completely refreshed back in June/July last year.

Halfords apparently did my auxiliary belt early last year as they advised that my old one was worn and cracked, probably didn't even replace it, robbing gits!
