I have recently bought a vts and checked axle and it was solid the bearings ... then just the last few days jacked it up and VERY slight play
With this just happening could this be repaired the bearings as I am acting quick ?
there is VERY slight camber I mean minimal and there is no uneven tyre wear as this has just happened
I have bought a bearing repair kit and hoping this could solve this
any ideas ?

Only way to find out is to take it apart even though if it just started the chances the pin might still be okay are good, definitely don't ignore it if there's some play,it's a simple process it's the rusted bolts and corrosion that can take you lots of time.

Its very rare you'd be able to save the axle but as said the only way to find out is pull it apart. Be prepared for a fight getting the torsion bars out if you haven't done one before!

What happens exactly that kills the axle? Is it the bearing mount which wears?

Bearing eats the pin surface fucking up the tolerances.

There's no fix for that then is there? New axle time?

Only way to fix is to replace the shafts in the main part of the axle which most people don't have the tools to do so most people go for a refurbished axle

If the pin has been damaged by the bearing beyond repair yes you want to get a new axle,1.1 axles should be easy and cheap to find and you have much less chances of it being damaged than a VTS or VTR one,you can then just swap all of your components on the new one, make sure it's a 4 studs.
Otherwise you can buy new pins and press them in but I've heard you need a ridiculous capacity press for them that most shops don't have.
I wouldn't just throw away your old axle though, you said there is very slightly play and it's recent so you might get lucky and still able to use it,I would take it apart and see the condition of the pins myself (as I'm currently doing with mine),you got nothing to lose anyway and you get to learn new stuff, which is always good.
