Broken? Wont turn on

Firstly apologies this isnt saxo related,
Ive a kenwood double din dvd player thing in the vectra i use as a daily, on way to work everything was as usual, plays sub ok etc etc,
Got in it to go home and it wont power on. Usually comes once key is in.

Has an led built in connected to the alarm which flashes when car is locked, kept flashing for a while then went out.
Managed to eject the that was in it just pressing buttons etc but no screen, i did botice last night backlight was a bit dim but thought nothing of it.

Any ideas as to what could be wrong? Its never faultered before

Blown fuse,loose plug poor earth etc.

Bit of a weird one, got in it later that night and all was well fired up with ignition.
Friend of mine has one in his bus and apparently they 'spike' sometimes and just needs a rest.

Very strange indeed.
