Hi guys, i bought another vtr that had been stripped to be used as a track car and hoping to get it on the road again if its not too rotten underneath. I took my rear seatbelt out and didnt realise that the loop part of the belt fits around the bend on the frame for it.

Basically i popped one of the tensioners plastic covers off and the retractor ( i think is the correct terminology, a brass roll of metal) popped out and i couldnt get it tight enough wound to go back in again how can i wind it tightly as i struggled to with having hold the other end and its tendency to want to un ravel its self.. I need to fit my rear speaker panel in but need the belt off its winder to fit through the cut hole for the belt in the panel as it cant be pushed through from the side that goes to the seat belt reciever and clicks in

Also the head lining is worse for wear with a rip in it near the back how could i recover/fix this and what is used to glue the lining to the roof?

You don't need the belt off the winder,on the quarter panel trim where the seatbelt goes through is an oval shaped piece of trim prise that up.Feed the belt down then put the trim back.

I have figured that bit out thanks. What about the roof lining how can I glue and tidy it up? Also I need to put the retractor metal bit back in but struggling wind it tight enough to slot in also I noticed today in the part where the rear quarter panel goes onto that it has rotted at the bottom would this be a mot failure of the quarter panel is on, can it be seen from the outside ?
