Help identify part please

Sorry that this will be clearly painfully obvious to everyone else, but i'm new to getting into car's parts and how they work ^^

Anyone tell what that is and what it does, as im looking to clean my vtr engine bay and the plate its attached too is rusted to hell! so looking to replace the plate its attached too and put a cover on it?

I posted a picture with it .. some reason it hasn't loaded correctly from the url i gave it ... damnit !

Anyways i found out on a saxo fb page it was the ecu, just located weirdly on mine ^^ Cheers for the help anyways :)

that's an account link, not a picture

It's the ECU, controls the car. no need to replace the entire plate just because of surface rust. Sand clean paint done.
