Hi,
We have a 1.1 Desire, 02 plate, approximately 108k miles on the clock. MOT is due in June, and apparently it will need a new rear axle (which I see is not a cheap job). Is it worth doing?
Also, the remote fob plays up. It works, but drains a cell battery within a couple of days. Have replaced the casing, and checked that button isn't being depressed when not in use, but to no avail.
Any comments/suggestions?

Thanks.

Think it's worth doing if it stops the back end falling off :D seriously though, it's an easy enough job with minimum tools, get it jacked up with blocks under the back end sills, you need a 32mm socket on the rear hub nuts, not sure about axle mounts off top of my head. Doubt it'll take long to change, give yourself a weekend if you're new to it and just take your time. Prob get it done in a few hours if you have a decent tool box.
As for the fob, no idea, have you cleaned the contacts? Maybe try a new fob, not sure how to programme them but no doubt there's a trick to it!
