As per title,I've found out mine just have a normal plug with no magnet both on the drain and refill part which I find quite odd, anybody able to shed some light? If not would it be a worthwhile upgrade? Thanks for the help.

Same as mine, found it had no magnet on the bolts and it's a 1.6 vtr lol, I think it's just where people have taken them out and then the magnets have fallen off, Defo worthwhile getting a set of magnetic ones as it picks up all the loose metal in the gearbox oil as it circulates the gearbox

Well that's odd,the magnet should never be able to come off ever again once it's in,that's if it's a good quality one which one from factory should be,other guides I checked do have a magnetic plug full of metal particles,I would think the only reason for not having magnetic plug would be that the gearbox has already one built inside which I'm not aware of,I only hope if there were magnets on the plugs they didn't fall inside the gearbox.

Even off they have fallen off inside with the bolt in, the magnet would only lay at the bottom of the reservoir anyway I guesse, I put one on mine anyway just so I can have a handle over how much loose metal is floating about in the box if you get me, every oil change I just wipe it off whilst the nuts out :y:

The magnet is inside the plug normally, so cannot "fall off". I just changed the auto box oil on mine which is 2 sump plugs. The ones I bought from a very big motor factors were not magnetic and nor were the ones I took out. Wrong I say!
