Hi - new to Saxperience. Have used the Forum for useful advice but new problem with my 2001 Saxo: Speedo not working.

Have tried the usual disconnect the battery, also removed speedo binnacle checked connections etc. The rev counter works as do temp & fuel gauge. The binnacle also lights up and when turned on the speedo needle moves slightly but never shifts from Zero. Likewise the mileometer is not registering distance travelled. The clock also resets itself every time the ignition is turned off & on again. This all leads me to think there is a connection problem / PCB issue with the speedo / odometer & clock which are all on the same side. Before I purchase a new binnacle can anyone offer any further checks / advice.

Also if purchasing a second hand binnacle is this a common fault?

many thanks

Have you checked the sensor on the gearbox mate? This sends the signal to the speedo.

Did you do anything before the speedo stopped working?
