You'll get rubbing with 16's anyway but a good lowering amount is 40mm and get yourself some 40mm profile tyres.

if you get 15/45/16 tyres you will get rubbing
195/40/16 you will be ok but still might get some only in full lock though
50mm will be good

The 40 in the tyre profiles does not stand for 40mm im sure its acutally 40% , but you will def get alot of problems if you buy 195-45 r 16s . My cousine did and had to cut the arches out and change to rear bumper mountings.
Go for the 40 profile and as for lowering ppl on here recemmend 40mm for handling. If you go 60mm and 100mm like me then you wil have a pain in the arse Ive got to modify the water bottle ive had to remove both front arches and possibly the rear bumper mountings.
