Ok, so the title may be a little too cocky, but here are a load of shots i have taken with my little Ixus 50.

I have taken them of the Golf Course i work at for promotional purposes and for our new website! And because i can't afford a 350D + decent glass yet, i have to make do with my little point and shoot!

C&C Appreciated!

I know some of them are all practically the same, but with an Ixus u dont have that many features to play around with. I think they have come out ok, but i cant wait to get a DSLR!

Rest of the pics are here http://www.alan.owns.tv/images/Golf/

Cheers!

couple of em there have came out really nicely, if u said ud taken them with an slr i would have believed u!

Get saving, entry level SLRs aint too expensive, iv got a Nikon D50 and i love it :D:

A shot of the ball in focus close up on the left with the flag out of focus on the right would look nice i think, a few photos are quite close to this but none of em have got it spot on!

great pics!

the brilliant thing about the Canon Ixus range is that they are truly a jack of all trades type of compact. excellent close up ability and great saturation too, don't forget a compact processes the image for you "in camera".

I couldn't fault any of the IXI cameras I have had.

One day i will unleish myself into the real world of photography, but i think these will do for the website, should get people wanting to come play at our place!

Trusty ixus, i dont regret buying it for a P&S camera! can't go wrong with it!

nice shots but a slr aint just for stills. it outdoes everyother camera when it comes to the motion shots. nice photos though

compact cameras just don't have the focusing ability to deal with objects moving.

hit the nail on the head there, but u do have to give th ixus dredit for its focusing ability at short range. obviously the further away you get you lose any DOF with a POS but at short range it is nice and crisp considering the limits.

Im so addicted to experimenting, cant wait to get the ess ell are, i think i might be quite creative photographer! And even if im not, i sure as well will try to be!

I think that'd be the ball collector mate, those balls dont make their own way home!

nah its a target boys, we have a different machine for ball collecting! its just an old banger someone donated so we have it at about 140yards for people to hit the fuck out of :D
