problem removing wheels

hi i have a 1.1 saxo, and the wheels are seized on solid, they spin freely but the wheels are rusted on so cant remove them, any ways i could try? used a hammer all ready but there not budging?

You need to support the car properly on axle stands. Then use a a copper or nylon hammer on the rim, rather than hitting the tyre. Smash it as hard as possible, spin 90 degrees, hit again, rotate, hit, rotate hit.
You will use a lot of force but it will work.
Once the wheel is off, wire brush all the crud off and clean both the wheel and hub surfaces

i was just using a normal hammer, the wheel is just a steely, wheres the safest place to hold it on axel stands, as it dosnt seem like theres many good, strong areas for it

Either the jacking point or the wishbone.

I use the rear wishbone bush to jack the car up and then put the axle stand under the jacking point or you can put the axle stands under the kidney shaped bits that the wishbones are mounted too as they're pretty solid areas and wont bend

I don't like using axle stands on the jacking points unless there the cut away so you don't crush the lip!

had it jacked up yesterday, tried driving back and forward with loose wheelnuts that didnt loosen it, brayed it countless times with the hammer while rotating the wheel, still wont budge even the slightest lol, looks like im going to have to get a bottle of propane and heat it up

bit of WD40 overnight, just be careful not to spray on the brakes.

I know pal lol, never seen out like it, going to take a torch to them on Tuesday heat them up see if they expand so I can get them off, will update on how I get on :)

Try spraying plusgas on the wheel nuts mate.

Just remove the wheel nuts and go do some handbrake turns!

The wheel nuts have came off mate, it's the wheel it's self what's rusted on, and no thanks about the handbrake turns lol

Do this carefully so that you don't mess up the hubs or brake drums,get yourself a pry bar or set of them.Insert a bar between the rear of the wheel and the face of the drum/hub ,tap it in then give the bar a tap with a hammet so that the bar is rocking.

Be careful when you're heating the wheels up might knacker the wheel bearings if it gets too hot

Just an update, got the wheels off today, heated them up a few mins with a torch hit them twice with the hammer and they came straight off :D new brake shoes fitted abit of ajusting all back on and working good now, put some copperslip on the wheel before putting it back on, hopefully wont stick no more :)

Aii mate, its good stuff like, very messy though lol, i used a wire brush on them to begin with then once the rust was rremoved and cleaned up i used the copper slip,

hope you removed other wheels at same time and greased them up ?
you know the puncture will be on the one you haven,t freed off

I didnt take a picture of them mate, affter the trouble id have with them i never want to see them again lol, glad its all sorted now, new shoes on brakes bled, and yea got all wheels off, took a wire brush on a drill to them to remove the rust, greased all the wheels up, brakes are working great now :D next job is moving on to replacing the front grill, its a mk2 grill i need so im going go get one, the slats out get it painted posi blue and get some mesh for it :) ill update some photos of progress when i work out how to upload them lol
