Hi there,
I'm experiencing a strange buzzing noise when turning the ignition on:
https://youtu.be/tL8cK5rLk5s
The problem occurs every time when the engine is cold. When it occurs, the pre-heating process seems to be aborted (glow plug indicator light is turned off after half a second, engine start takes more cranking). When I wait for a few seconds during the buzzing, then I turn the ignition off and on again, the pre-heating process completes normally without any noise.
All the glow plugs have been replaced, and the glow plug relay has also been tried with another one, no change.
The car is a 1.5D with a Bosch fuel pump, mfg. date is 2003. This version has an ECU on top of the battery.
My mechanic suspects that the problem is with the cold start accelerator solenoid. He has tried cleaning it, but no changes. He has consulted a diesel service center, but they have recommended not to touch the valve if I can live with the buzzing and the longer-than-ususal startup process.
Does anyone have ever experienced similiar problems?
