Clay bar question

Can I use one of thse to remove the very light swirl marks left in my paint from previous owners rubbing all the crap back into the paintwork?

What is the correct procedure to follow when using the bar? Clean car, clay, buff out? Or do I need to wash it out or what exactly? Thanks alot,

hey man,

the clay bar wont remove swirl marks - it just picks up the tiny specks of grub that are on the paint work.

ah, ok. Ive been doing a little searching on some other forums and there is a process called detailling which is what I am after. Ill look into it, it looks time consuming but the results are top.

takes me about 5 hours to do the outside of the car.

depending how bad the swirl marks are you might be able to get rid of them using the megs scratch X
