So got some hard decisions to make over next year as am thinking on getting another can more power bigger faster and maybe do project with it. The problem is I am not sure to sell the VTS saxo I have as now all work is done few small problems but easy fixes. I am lead to believe low milage VTS saxos are becoming more rare and in mint condition to find too.
Do I 1
Keep and maybe it becomes next classic car like 106GTi did and can get some stupid high prices when selling. And buy new car?
Do I 2 sell the saxo, use the funds to put towards modding new car?
Do I 3 Keep saxo instead and put money towards saxo and Turbo than buying new car?
What you guys think should do??

If it's a decent example, you like it, and you've got somewhere to keep it; why not hang on to it and get another car too :-)

Might as well keep it with the price of them now, prices are so low it's crazy. My mate just got himself a vts with 71k on the clock pretty clean and no rust at all for £700. For that price it's worth keeping just for a laugh.

Paid a little above that for mine with 51,400 on the clock 1 owner from new and me being its 2nd owner. Had a lot put into it over the last few years and like somersetdub said I do have a garage can store it in weather if family will let me use and it will fit lol is another question. £700 is fairly cheap bedford seen a lot going for mid £1500 to £1600 on most places where selling good examples of and have sold. Been tempted a few times to sell but not sure. No doubt ill probs keep while I make my decisions as its a cheap and fun car to run round in.

Only just seen rust free would be impossible for them unless it been stored lol. and like you said VeiRoN just not found yet. I been doing my car today and found more rust and that was on one the support brackets for front bumper as was cleaning and tracing some other problem and come across this now. Another one to add to the list. Most common places for rust are gonna be under ECU box and fuse box almost guaranteed will be rotted.

Nope no rust at all, tiny little bit of surface rust on the drop bracket for the spare wheel bracket.

Still,I find that hard to believe if it hasn't been treated before and even then the right products must be used or it will just come back,I really hope it's like you say but sometimes even if the factory underseal seems good outside it hides some horrors underneath but maybe you just got lucky with a well maintained example.

Still id be looking in most suspected areas.
Under ECU box and under plate that is screwed in to drivers side arch.
Fuse box passengers side where right wheel arch is.
Sunroof drains, need to remove sunroof to access and take out roof lining found my leak in this as flaking in corners where water builds up and deposits over years..
Still could be lucky tho. Have now decided on keeping as more I search for mint condition or low mileage is getting hard to find. Was debating to keep or sell deciding on keeping putting money into it when I can maybe turn into a track day car.
When I first got mine thought perfect nothing then when got car and started stripping and cleaning up removing gunk and old paint, ant-rust crap turned out more to do than just that. Is well worth having a little poke and a little scrape in areas that have had gunk on it remove all of it and get down to metal and paint and having a prod around. Best find and cure if your friends in the long run for keeping and working on.
Once I got round to looking at all problems biggest problem I found was rotten interior wiring loom and needed a full one but took a nice weekend to do..
Turned out 1 in 6 wires where good the rest rotten due to sunroof leak causing it to leak in and sit in drivers and passengers foot area of car however looked nice and clean on surface and carpet was dry. I come across this after having problems with back lights and indicator bulbs blowing for fun of it and then back lights on one side was not getting any live to it. So spliced into a few wires and seen where nice and blue n green inside. When I come to removing and looking at underlay on it was squishy and wet not good. But not the most common thing your going to be looking over or ripping out when buying. I bought due how clean reset of car was when inspecting and full history with it and 1 owner from new and low mileage.
Next job on the list after fixing that was the toe hook on back of car. Decided to test with a friends car and asked can I toe you round block, said sure no problem. Checked for rust and only surface but thought better be safe than sorry. Gave a little shunt and the thing snapped and behold a nice big crack and rip in it that has since been replaced rot removed welded plated and strengthen and sealed up nice.
Next job done last year was a full gearbox rebuild and few other things done well worth the spend as 2nd 3rd and reverse gears needed changing had upgraded bearings and clutch kit installed and me £400 lighter. Guaranteed work for 3 years.
Next on list am thinking is going to be re condition axle and have poly bushes fitted as got sat in box waiting to be used then maybe getting around to some engine mounts and rest bushes up rated. Then for some power increases me thinks.

Lol you say it like we have never owned a Saxo before, there is no rust at all both of us are fully qualified mechanics and both do body work, there is no rust. The cars just aren't worth anything any more.

It's stripped going to be a track car (track days) on r6 boddies and hopefully ethanol if our polish friend comes through. Looking to use waterless coolant too just for a laugh as i bought some but don't trust it enough yet to go in the civic.

I would say a good VTS example is worth quite a bit and prices seems to go up lately,I wouldn't say they're worthless.

Prices seem to go up it doesn't mean people are paying that price, the one we got was advertised for £1400 we just got him down on the price because he knew that it wasn't worth anywhere near that.

Id say personally keep it, I have a 2 S1 106's both of which are just sat around.. Maybe 1 day they'll be worth a small fortune like the 205 GTI but if there not I'm enjoying them now.
On the rust issue my Rallye is rotten on the inner wing and behind the osf wheel, on my Roland Garros which is older than the Rallye its completely rust and rot free and has had never been welded either.
