I upgraded my numberplate bulbs to l.e.d sometime ago and one started flickering, i the replaced the bulb with another l.e.d one and it lasted around 5 weeks and started doing it again, its only ever the 1 bulb that does it, the other one stays lit up fine all the time, tested the bulb and its working but just not when fitted into the car, anyone know what the problem is? Thanks

eBay led bulbs will be the micro driver or resistor that won't be up to the job. Had this problem with the van I replaced the full lot with a 12v to 5v dropper then wired both to that using a kit from a golf

The drivers/ resisters aren't made to stand up to the voltages/amp Fluctuations of a car they need a voltage of a constant 12v when most cars produce 14v. My only suggestion would be to buy a actual module rather than just the bulb . Not sure if they make them though.

Just gotta think a led should have a lifespan of 50k hours so in theory should last the life of the car it's the drivers that normally fail.
