hey,

my car failed its MOT as little or no effort on OS handbrake

I replaced the cable and pads ... I have worked piston in and out and greased it along with the sliders also the metal hook the cable goes through I have worked it back and forward with vice grips and plenty wd40 and still nothing happening

the piston comes out when I push the brake just nothing when the handbrake is pulled.

any ideas before I have to hand it in a garage ? :panic:

cheers

Sounds to me like you'll need to adjust the cable at the lever. When you pull the handbrake lever how high is it?

you need to pump the pedal to adjust the piston before adjusting the cables and 3 clicks sounds way too tight.

you should only adjust the slack out of the cables, as soon as the levers are pulled the self adjusting mechanism in the caliper will not work.
