View Full Version : (Newbie) Power Steering failed. Does it have anything to do with my rear drum cylinders leaking?

Hi Everyone,

Not the most experienced car owner here, but this morning I needed to drive to work, despite the fact my rear brakes have almost totally failed. I have the car booked in to a mechanic who knows how to fix the problem next Monday morning. However, went to start the car and set off for work today, but then noticed the Power Steering is totally absent. Not sure what I'm dealing with, so I left the car parked in the car park. Is the Power Steering failure connected to my shot drums?

Thanks in advance for any explanation,

Tom

you're willingly driving a car with faulty brakes?! FFS.

no, the power steering is totally separate from the brakes.

I didn't. It was definitely not even remotely safe. I did have to skip work today, and might have got into trouble. Oh well. :panic:

Figured out the issue after trying the heater fan and it didn't come on. Going to try to fix it tomorrow when the rain stops.

To the op is the heated rear screen working, don't condemn the alternator without testing.
