The patient is a 2003 Mk2 1.5d - 5 door

This is a mittor of a 1.5 5 door I had a few years ago with a plip.

I do not have a plip unit for this car as the previous owner lost it with the other key.

With the key I have I can lock and unlock all five locks of the car by turning the key in the drivers door. This suggests to me there is full central clocking installed.
If I try the passenger or boot it only unlocks that lock.

I've read loads of threads on here about the location of the module being up behind the glovebox.
The Haynes manual says that as mine is a 5 door it should be up behind the dash above the pedals and below the steering wheel.

Having removed the carpet trim under the steering wheel I cant find it there.
Then I stripped the glove box out which was quite simple but I cant find it there either.

From what I gather it should be a longish unit with 9 wires.

Any suggestions ?

Think I found it !

It is behind the glovebox but not screwed up. Seems it should be on a sliding bracket which has wobbled free and was hanging down behind other cables.

I was under the impression the drivers door lock should be the only one that unlocked them all?

You have power locks, which is different to remote central locking. If you had remote cl then you'd have a central locking unit in the roof console(by sunroof)

All fixed now.

For information of others I picked up a unit off eBay titled 'Universal Car Remote Central Tool Door Lock Vehicle Keyless Entry Kits 2015 New' for £6.00 delivered from China.

The instructions are pretty good but you have to figure out if your car is a positive or negative trigger. The Saxo is a negative by the way.

Fitted the unit similar to the HAWK method. The indicator wires can just be accessed by popping out the Hazard switch but the wires are more easily accessible on the right side just inside the glove box area (removed). Two grey wires from a choice of four – figure out which ones by tugging the terminal 5 & 6 switch ends and see which ones move.
The earth I used a connector and screwed it to an existing screw rather than fumble for the nut further down.
The mega bright blue flashing LED mounts on a switch blank.

The distance this unit works at is impressive even with brick walls in the way.
