View Full Version : Toad C4 alarm working correctly???

Hi all, haven't been on in awhile, but my Furio is still running well on daily commutes.
BUT, after 4 months of owning it, I have just braved using the Toad c4 fob and it seemed to work, then within minutes was doing weird things!
Bearing in mind the previous owner hadn't used fob in 5 years, I pressed arm/unarm well away from my car to test fob battery. Then used it on the alarm. Fob icons worn off, but Arming is left of 2 buttons, as checked against others on eBay.
I actually think it works, albeit, it arms the alarm fine, but central locking prongs only shake, but dont go down to lock! Low fob battery? Central locking works fine all round using key.
Have just got new Energiser 2032 fob battery and trying again today.

Thought I saw somewhere on here, that to do alarm reset, you open all doors, hatch and bonnet, then disconnect....reconnect car battery??? Is that somewhere near what I may need to do if problems persist?
ALSO, eBay reviewer reckons Toad C4 has a 4 digit random code?
Does alarm reset just alter the code and it then should work fine?

Any help/info would be great, thanks.

Your actuators in the door may be scrap. Mine are both only opening my locks half way and its a right pain in the dick. I've lubed them up but it still wont 'pop' the door pins all the way up to the unlocked position.

Thanks for youre reply...
not sure on that though, as all central locking works fine on using the key.
More puzzled about the fob now.
Fob should be; left button to arm/lock and right button to disarm/unlock.
But my fob does both actions only using the left button!
The right button does nothing, even though the fob LED lights on pressing it.

But whichever way it works, I'm just happy my car is protected!
