bad smell with heating system on

when i turn on the heating system bad smell come out...like burned oil.
Why?

Did you spill oil in the engine bay recently?

No. It's a long time problem. Maybe dirty oil carter?

Possible oil leak somewhere ?

I would avoid driving the car until you find the leak, sort it out and clean the engine.
