stupid question (probably) will i get away with not stripping the drivers side driveshaft out of a 1.1 saxo (99) when removing the gearbox. trying to save myself a ball ache as the bolt on the lower ball joint on the drivers side is rust rather than a bolt so trying not to snap/cut it.
thank you

hi thanks for your reply, i may give it ago and see how to goes, tbh i dont really want to be stripping the drivers (yes uk) side if i can help it everything seems to be rusted together that side so if i was to start stripping that side down i can only see me coming out with less knuckles than what i have

you could always remove the wishbone bolts and leave it connected to the strut if they're less rusty i guess.

You'll never get the gearbox back on and aligned and trying to get the shaft in at the same time.
Just cut and replace the ball joint bolt. It's a 5 minute job with a cutting disc.
Disconnecting the inner bushes is another way you can to it, when re-fitting do the big front bolt first, then the rears through the floor. there's no prying to be done, you can do it by hand.
