don't try and run before you can walk. keep your car until you are ready to get something faster. There's nothing wrong with spending money on it because it's slow?

ha i see you have read my other posts :D..

i dont mind spending money on it because it's slow but i am planning on getting a VTR in 9 months so i dont see the point in spending money when i will be getting something different in 9 month. just thought might as well see now how much my insurance will be.

i'd rather stab my own bollocks with a rust fork to be honest...

THINK about it in real terms... £2k!!!

£2k is a lot of dosh and to waste it on driving a saxo at the end of the day is totally crap. save the dosh for a proper car when you're a litte older :)

how much would it be for a 17 year old to insure a vtr people ??

is it even possible? i would say easy £2k as i was on £1,100 on a 1.1 when i was 18.

I would never spend that much on insurance full stop. Never mind on a Saxo. Build up your no claims and soon you'll be able to insure one at a reasonable price

I never see the point in people spending thousands insuring their first cars. Do you really need a VTR? When you're 17?

I would never pay that amount for insurance unless i got a massive pay rise and knew that i could afford it.

but if you really want the car then it is your decision to make.

I may be forking out £2,900.00 for insurance on a VTR. Only been driving 3 months, 19 and had one accident (Hence the reason the insurance is so high).

I would pay it, if I really wanted the car.

I got quoted 5.5K FC on a Type R (3K TPTF), which I was going to pay :)

If you're into cars, want a nice car, willing to mod, then pay the money. I would, I will and I will have within the next 30 days.

For my next car I'm hoping to get a VTR and would pay up to £2,300 for insurance with mods declared...

2k for a vtr is alot of money down the drain in my eyes its hardly a once in a lifetime op, ie for some reason being quotes 2k on a 250bhp monster

if you got the money do it, if not save up think of it in terms of this

1200 a year (if you got a cheap run about on insurance) =100 a month
2000 a year .................................................. ...........= 166 a month

so if you love a car that much then an extra 66quid to get it in my eyes is nothing,

I'm paying £1900 Fully Comp on my VTR, 1 years NCB and been driving 1 year.

I live in high risk area though, according to facts. My old Westcoast was £2,400 TPFT - cheapest I could get.

i paid 2k when i first got my saxo, its brutal but if you want the car ur gona have to pay, and what the boys are saying is right, find ur feet first, i had too many near misses in my saxo when i passed, too fast, and still have a few imature bumps and scrapes o prove it.
