right this im getting fustrated now,
I need some quotes for provisinal insurance @ 17 on a vtr but they either wont give me a quote (tesco and liverpool victoria say i need to be 19 with 1 years no claims minimum) or like quinn direct, which ive been impressed with up to now, cant help me until the system logs out.
Also how do i go about if i pay for a years provisinal insurance and onli end up using 2 months? thanks

you wont get insured on a VTR on a povisional at 17!!
I payed £1900 on a 1.1 whilst on my provissional.
If you manage to get the insurance, you have to pay the full amount of the years insurance and it doesn't decrease if you pass your test. It will only decrease when you renew.

well quinn direct quoted me 1600 for provisonal, but your saying i'd have to pay this much for a year or two months?

well I had to pay for a year and they wouldn't reduce it just because I passed. You can't quit because you're in a contract so you basically have to pay it and wait till the next year.
However, you do save a LOT of money on driving lessons. I only had three when people without cars on their provisional have like 20-30 lessons on average.
