we also have an insurance section on heretoo - if you take a look at that it may help you out, i think most tend to go for a furio or something but there is no harm in searching for quotes

welcome mate!
I posted this in your other thread;
Its really up to you mate, personally i wouldnt spend money on a car i didnt want to keep for long. The vtr is quick but will rape you on insurance, the westy/furio is the middle of the two.
Addin to that;
VTS; Seriously rapid car, 120bhp 16v lump. Not great MPG but you cant really expect that from the engine, just at 18 the petrol costs per month have got to sting. Insurance group is 14, so although a post was made earlier on with a really good quote, at 18 youd be lucky to even get insured. My mate at college is 18, second car and its a VTS MK1 with no NCB hes paying 2200 third party only and thats the best he could get, meaning even if his car gets stolen hes fecked unless the police can get it back, which isnt likely. Also you are more likely to crash it due to lack of experience and the amount of power under the right foot. Also they can be unreliable engines. Loads of engine mods available, but you will need deep pockets.
VTR; 90bhp 8v engine, insurable at 18 but will still cost you a good 2k on fully comp which is in my opinion the only insurance worth having. reasonably nippy and looks identical to the VTS body wise, bar the badges and in some cases the rims. The most popular saxo on here. Pretty low running costs. Again loads of engine mods available, deep pockets needed for decent power gains. Insurance group 7
Westcoast (MK1) & Furio (MK2); 1.4 8v engine. Low running costs, good MPG and low insurance group 5 so insurance isnt bad atall for what they are. Not fast but reasonably nippy and good power for a 1.4 (waits for R5GTT comment). Looks to 90 percent of people the same as a VTR/S. They have different badges again, and drum brakes on the rear axle rather than disk brakes like the VT models. The interior is a bit 'funky'. Great first or second cars, many people on here have had or have them including myself.
So theres some info for ya mate. You can decide which you want to go for. IMO the only sensible option from those three at 17/18 is a westcoast/furio or VTR, because you have less to fall back on with a VTS and are more likely to do something silly and crash it.

wow cheers for that info, il probably wait till im 21for a vts then, hmm well i could always have it in mum/dads name if insurance is a lot, so is a 1.4 fairly fast then, cause i dont want to get it and be disappointed and how much should i look at paying for one in decent condition?

Dont you mean ancient fiesta at 18 mate? I hear its gonna rain tommoro :fcuk: lol
And that quote of 3k on a furio is crap mate you can get a much better quote than that, a VTr would be about 2k. Check out Quinn Direct, RAC and Elephant
