Right im just begining to get into the whole car cleaning thing
of course i have always washed my motors but after seeing how good they can look withthe right effort i fancy having a g

Right

I have now
Meguirs gold glass wash and polish
Meguirs quick detailer and clay
Turtle wax wheel cleaner and brake dust protector(really good stuff)
i also have loads of auto glym stuff and that
BUT

I have noticed my car has lots of fine scratched and swirls
How do iget rid of these

Is it worth buying and electric buffer polisher thing

Excuse my stupidity as i just fancy learning alot more :-)

have a look at all the other threads about this.

The best way to get rid of the paint defects you are talking about is by purchasing a porter cable polisher 7424 from autopia.

These buffers for £15-30 dont do anything in terms of defect and swirl removal.

You could by ssr 2 or ssr1 and try by hand on the swirls but it would take a long time to get there if you got rid of them at all!!

To remove swirls and fine scratches by hand is hard, hard work, but Menzerna Intensive Polish via the white side of a German Applicator Pad is the way to go. It is worth buying a PC 7424 if you really want to get into your car care, but granted £150-£200 isn't cheap through. It's all down to what you want to achieve - perfection costs money, and requires a machine. A good job can be achieved by hand, and costs less. :)
