I have a problem with my amp, i dont know what it is. It normally works fine, but the other day the fuse just blew. i checked all the connections and they seemed fine, but every time i went to put in a new fuse it blew as soon as it was put in. my earth is attached to the bolt that holds on the left rear light, and when i wiggled it it would spark. Any idea what the problem is?
Thanks

change the location of your earth wire

doublecheck all the connections, and if they are touching each other

the fuse on your amp is blowing or one near the battery?
if it's the one on your amp, maybe you blown the amp. when you triplecheck all the connections and the fuse still keeps blowing, you'll now for sure you've blown the amp

Just take the main fuse from your power cable then put the fuses into your amp. Then you dont ave power still running up to blow them.

iv checked all the connections, and tried puttin the earth sumwhere else but no luck :( the amp stil has power goin to it as its not blowing the fuse anymore, and if i wiggle the earth around where its attached to the car it sparks. Ive checked the remote cable and thats fine. When i turn da ignition to turn on the battery the red protect light comes on for a second and goes off again, but the amp stil dont work :S its realli annoyin me now!

could have a prob with your alternator if the protection is coming on as when your ignition is on your alternator makes the voltage higher on your car battery, get the battery voltage checked with the engine running,if it goes above 14v iirc then you have a problem with your alternator

i dnt mean turn da ignition properly, i mean jus like 1 click to turn on the headunit. Wud this still be able to cause the problem you said? i am getting a voltage meter thing 2moz to test it all out.

the problem is from withing the amp its self.the resistor has blown ands its allowing to many amps to flow through.causing the fuse to blow everytime. take teh casing of your amp and check the resistor.or just much a 50amp fuse in and see if that fixes it

trust me, you've burned it
the fuse is there with a reason, and i would surely recommend that you keep to the original values,. if you put a stronger fuse you could easily blow something inside and cause even more damage.

another thing you can try is to try the amp in a friends car
