As some of you might know by now i am planning on going for the 'euro' look on my car. I have been told just to smooth my original bumpers rather than buy a 'euro' style bumper! But with the black plastic of the bumper sticking out a bit as they do won't it look a bit odd??? and how would i smooth it out to start with??
Any help would be great!

I think with the saxos bumpers its a case of blending in the plastic bits to the rest of the bumper then repraying the lot of it over the top. So a proper job for the tub of filler.
One the 106s you pull the plastic off then fill the space up to hide it.

yeah the above thread is mine, i am still currently smoothing mine, use epoxy first then fibreglass on top while the epoxy is still wet, once dry sand and then use a thin layer of filler on top. get the 3m scotch weld epoxy there is a link in the above thread to a uk seller who sells it for £3 which is a bargin as it retails at $27 normally

I'd reckon buy 5 get the 6 one free and that should do you, as your not using the epoxy to fill the gap, the fibre glass does that for you
Have you ever used fibre glass before? as it can be funny stuff to use and you have to get the mixture spot on. when you apply the fibre glass try and keep it smooth and to the shape it needs to be, makes it easier to sand, and if you havn't got a sander you'll end up with a nackerd arm lol
Cheers for the link steve I orderd some other day, can't go wrong for that price

Erm no never touched any bodywork on cars ever! I was talking to my mate who works as a mechanic/paintshop and he said that fibreglass can crack easily?!?! So i don't know whether to just colour code everthing or what to do now!

and metal bends easy, fibre glass only cracks when it has not been bonded to the plastic proply, do it right and you'll have no probs
