Just a general question, yes I've tried searching.
I'm going to attempt to sound proof my front doors tommorow my plan is to remove the door card and coat the entire behind in sound proofing maybe a few layers of flashing tape depending on what my wages are like tommorow.

Now only problem I can think of is; isn't the window directly behind the door card when it's down or is it further back into the door, I dont want to sound proof the whole door only to find I cant pull the windows down.
Only reason I'm asking is when I've had my front speakers out and the window down it comes really close to where the speaker sits hence I'm wondering if I can seal the whole door off without upsetting the window movement.

Going to remove door pins too they rattle anyway.

little bit of a :hijack: but i will be doin my doors to soon and was thinking if after i soundproof the door will the doorcard fit back on ok? has any one got a pic or 2 of there door soundproofed so i can get an idea where
and where not to soundproof thanks back to Dazzer if the soundproofing is only 2mm or so thick and the gap between the window is a little big bigger should be ok but i aint 100% sure

cheap way lads to sound proof, dont get all dynomatt so expensive, go to B&Q's go to the roof insulating rolls of material and use that! so much cheaper and does the same business.

but of course in tight gaps use dynomatt.

you wont have problems with windows. and you can always try during the proccess. just stick the lever back in and try it

about fitting the door cards... cut out the dynamat (or whatever) in the places where the door card sits in the doors and you shouldnt have any problems
