How many of you lot at some time (not saying now, cause that'd incriminate you) not fully declared mods on your insurance (or other things, e.g. points)

I've always declared, and thankfully not needed to claim, but there seems to be a bit of a trend of "oh i'll tell them next year" sneaking around....

Mate, that is seriously not cool, what if you hit a kid one day, the insurance won't want pay out and you will be fucked for life.

I haven't had a modded car yet as i have haven't owned them for long enough to start to but i will if i think i will keep them and declare everything.

Declared some of the things but not all. Have to declare my points at renewal. Which i will do.

Certain things you can get away with but engines i wouldnt risk. Becuase it voids not just your insurance but MOT and tax probably.

didn't declare my seats... probs thinking i should really - i actually genuienly forgot about them at insurance renewal time.

Everything else is declared.

Alloys
Soon to be bodykitted

havent told insurance about none of mine yet, but i only have a cage and morrettes which are easy to rip out if something happens, but once its lowered everthing will be done.

i phoned quinn the other week to tell them about all the lights being changed, leather being put in, windows tinted and sounds stuff, and they didnt even want to know what i had done to it, as long as it didnt alter performance or suspension. they just wanted to know how much value it added to the car, and didnt put my premium up which was great!

My company have details about all my mods... I don't fancy "risking" it for the sake of other road users.

i know its right to declare, hence why ive never driven a modded car;
but as good as we are as individuals; there will always be a majority of ppl that dont declare unfortunately.

how much do insurance companies tend to add for lowering the car?

with my furio it didnt matter coz i was only third party and the insurance company (_quinn) said that any modifications aslong as they werent going to make the car go faster wouldnt matter.

that'll depend on your circumstances... the insurance company you are with and what policy.

in my first 4 years of driving i had third party so neglected to tell them a few things. i did declare at the begginning of the policy but never bothered to update when i did something new to the car.

now that im fully comp everything is declared and will be from now on.

Its a bit hard to rip my VTS engine outta my VTR :P

your not willing to tell them about 16v's and 20bhp extra, thats sad,i hav done this once before but 1 week into it just told my insurance about the mods as it didnt feel rite, sumbody may hit into me!! and if you aint covered properly it comes out your own pocket, which means your paying insurance for no reason what so ever!

i got my alloys after 6 months of driving didnt bother declaring at the time. but i did when i renewed the policy.. and it's also declared for being lowered as well now. everything declared in fact..

was thinking of getting an induction kit but my insurance want to know loads info about it.. how much bhp and stuff like that...

i know it's not right but if i get one i probably wont declare it as it's alot of messing about on my and my insurance's behalf...sorry
