Cigarette Lighter?

Trying to wire up footwell neons, what wires can i use for earth and live feed?
can i use the yellow and grey wires for the back of the cigarette lighter? if so which is which??

you can use the 2 earth points at each side of the car thay are just under the carpet i will go have a look what wire is live for the + but do you have a switch?

right been and checked
yellow/green is earth
gray is perm live
thin blue wire is switched live

so to wire tap into the grey wire for the live feed, y

for your earth wire use one of the cars earthing points, you can earth it at the bottom of the dash, behind air bag ecu, theres a ten mm bolt, or either foot well, if you do pas side, under neath the bonnet pull if you pull the carpet back, theres an earthing point there

to wire the switch run the live feed from cig lighter, to switch, join to input on switch, then connect, neon live to output on switch

done that, wired up the earth to the bolt under the dash behind the bonnet release, and used spade connectors for the grey power wire, but still nothing.
i know the neon definitely works because when i touch the battery and earth it, it comes on. any ideas??

so you got the pos connected to the gray wire that goes into the cigarette lighter and you have the neg connected to the 10 mill bolt that has 1 yellow and a green wire connected have u got a switch on the pos wire?

what i have is:

Yellow wire running from Grey live feed into a switch, red wire running from switch into black box thing, and a black wire (earth) coming from the black box, connected behind the bolt now.

sounds right dont no whats up with it make sure it all connected tight and plug somo think in cig lighter to make sure you aint blown a fuse if still nothin ask YM03 he sould know sorry for not being that much of a help

done, think ma fag lighter is dead lol, so i just taped up those wires and took a feed from headunit.

well lest it working now does your horn work because on mine cig lighter fuse is also horn fuse its middle yellow fuse under dash thanks for the rep

You probably wired it to the surrounding light to the cigarette lighter... meaning the neons would only work when your side/head lights are on... which to be honest is probably a good thing... as you don't need neons when it's light...this is how mine are wired up...

But i didn't want to risk messing up the power supply to my alpine headunit over some £3 ebay neons :afro:

Im not sure mate... i don't think the wires are the same colour in each model saxo... as i have yellow, orange and brown wires...
So unfortunately i can't help you...
