it all depends if you want a chage if you get another saxo you will always be thinking of your old one and compair every thing to it.

that was my idea, but im getting grief off the missus lol

had an insurance quote for the vts and an S3, aint much difference :)

S3 has 225bhp, 4wd and comes fully loaded, granted it costs a few squid more but its a stronger car.

vts, i will take interior out and whack the charger back on, but it may do the same lol but i know the saxos inside and out now.

Then again, im a saxo nut ;)

what about a seat leon cupra then they are based on the a3 and the golf and have the tt engine and have got 180bhp this is the normal cupra not the cupra r with 225bhp.

i could even keep the sax as a project and bring her back to her former glory, could maybe remove the engine, fit all new wiring and a new motor, spray the engine bay black, paint the wings and fit my new carbon bonnet that i had never used lol

I voted a3 as i really like them but as you know your saxo's inside out then you would always know what to check for when buying it.

It depends aswell what you think you'll want to do with the car. If you want to have a car that you won't need to add much stuff to i'd say the s3, if you want another toy to play with its got to be the vts.

i was only looking a spending around 5k on a car at the moment. altho i was planning to get a bigger car anyway at the start of next year before the fire happened, but still keep the saxo and spending 10 - 15k on a bigger car.

so do i get the big car now, or start again with an ickle car then pospone the bigger car for a while. lol

babers - altho the insurance company know about the charger. in reality i wont get any of the money i have spent on the car back. i had it towed back to my house instead of the impound because i know the lads there and they would have had parts off the car as soon as i left!!

i also have no time to sort insurance out at the moment because work are sending me all over, since the accident on monday, i have been to wales, stafford and holland! so time is against me and they wont give me any time off to sort things out because we are "too busy" TW@S lol

recon if i stripped the motor out, i would need anything with a bush or mount replaced, along with cv boots etc. complete wiring harness, new motor, paint the engine bay, new lights, bumper, arches, side indicators, windscreen, 2 tyres and the wings painted. i have a carbon bonnet so the standard one could be removed and wouldnt need painting. lol looking at that its quite alot :(

well, i dont think the parts would cost you much, you have the citroen breakers in gateshead, then there is ebay, could easily get the parts about

you could spend 8k on a civic type r, instead of spending 10-15k on another car, and use that towards the saxo? i know you didnt want to change engines as its your pride and joy, its shit that its happened, but it could be a blessing in disguise (sp), whack a vts engine in and start again

If you don't need anything you can put loads of luggage in but can use everyday I would get a vauxhall vx220 2.2. Bite the bullet: you can pick them up for about £10k now. Used to have one and I miss it like feck!
