Fry'd my sub last nite. Now it only works when u push the cone down in a particular place. Guess it's time 4 a new 1.
But there's just too many to choose from. Not looking to spend too much on it. Any recommendations?
I want quite tight bass, but fairly deep. Listen to Hip-Hop / Drum & Bass. Running off a 4x80watt amp, so I guess it's about 160+ watts for the sub.
Cheers

hmm unlucky chap! ur in the sma eposition as me, i had a v.nice vieta sub 10" but happened same as with urs only wokrs when pushed down..ghey!
then i brought two legacy series subs erm..600watt think its 300-400rms
but i blew them last 2 weeks lool my fault though due to forgetting to re-config my amp settings as had it on my old veita when it was already worn in..grr but il learn thsi time as im looking for a nice tidy 10" sub for around £50.
I'l give u ideas of what im buying that is the
£44.99 - Vieta Power series PW-101 - 500watts peak - 200watts RMS
(my old vieta was Millienium M101 - 500watts peak - 250RMS and that rocked! seriously pumping 200watts from my amp into it i was astounded from what i got, Mate had 2x 12" JBL GT-4's i think.. and they are awesome and that 1 sub kept up loudness although no spec but nearly out done the bass of his put 2gever thats why im tempting myself to getting the power series..
Or its the 10" GT4 JBL at £29.99 - 1000watts peak - 250RMS im toying at the mo bcos i know that ok its a cheap sub poor looks but does give good bass for price as ive seen before.
I think im going to go for the veita and look after this one as its got nice looks and goes with my vieta amp too. But i'll see..
Hope any of that helps..
If ur looking to spend more which u probs r, im not as im saving for wheels and grill to atm(student sucks) then i suggest for looks defo and spec is good too the DUB audibahn pure chrome sub exterior i think they are going for about £60 at 10" looks mint!
If people got any other reccomendations i'd like to know too might change my mind! :)
Try kroozin.co.uk for cheap priced subs at good quality. Other wise the bog standard ice sites like caraudiosecurity.com/.co.uk?

i jsut read a reveiw on 10" subs in max power and the winner on that was the blaupunkt velocity vw250. with different tests etc over a rangeof music and manufacturers including sony fusion alpine etc it come out best for best all round performance.
Quote from the Review:
"we thought this had a chance of not proving agile enough to hit the hard fast notes as well as dropping the low tones, but listening proved the theory well wrong. The VW250 dropped really low when needed, yet loved to punch hard with snappy bass notes on the trance test track. The best all- rounder here"
Although it will set you back £140 i have heard these myself and they extrememly inpressive. hope this post helps

Think I'd need another amp to run this monster. Oh, & a loan to buy it!

it is in the latest issue of max power. the comparison is over 10 subs each having their unique good points but the blaupunkt was best alrounder. the issue is plastered with a ranger rover sport on the front, cant miss it.
hope this helped
