Things to do around leicester derby area

right as im from the lovely north east dont know alot about the midlands, however me lass is living in nottingham and im going down for thursday and friday, dont wanna do out in nottingham as shes probably already done everything so anyone got any ideas of what i can do around that area for a day trip maybes

all iv got so far is alton towers if the weather is alrite, think i went to some zoo about 30mile away from nottingham aswell

if your in nottingham there is a really nice chinese place to eat (if you like it) called pagoda its near the victoria shopping centre! i think! eat as much as you want for about £15 and the food is so nice!

nah as a said shes from nottingham so i wanna go somewhere else for like a day trip or something cheers though, looks like alton towers it is
