right, basically, the paint work on my new car is absolutely perfect and i dont want to start ruining it by using a sponge and shampoo as ive heard that gives you swirls in the paint.
im buying everything from the beginning even the proper sponges to wash it with. problem is i dont know what to buy. i want to gove it a quick wash every week then a detailed wash once a month/every 3 weeks.
whats the best kind of sponge to use?
whats the best shampoo to use?
whats the best wax or polish to use?
as you can see i have no idea how to properly wash my car so help will be appreciated and i WILL be giving rep out for your answers :)
Cheers all!
Robbo
edit: it has to be affordable, looking for all the equipment needed for maybe 40-50 quid?

dont use a sponge as there the main cause of swirl marks, get a decent lambs wool mitt.
i personally use the poorboys super slick suds shampoo
polish and wax wise i normally use the blackfire gloss enhancing polish and P21S wax, but those 2 product alone would be about £40
have a look on the polished bliss website i think theyve got a couple of deals going on at the minute

First up, take a look at our basic wash kit - it's got everything you need to wash your car safely and avoid putting swirls and scratches into the paint...
Basic Wash Kit (http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/pb500wash.html)
... and it saves you 10% over buying the products seperately. Simply add two buckets and read this guide for best results...

As for polishes/protectants, well, a lot depends on the colour of you paint and the look you want to achieve. Also, if your money is tight we do great one step products like Menzerna Acrylic Jacket that polish and protect in a single step. Tell me more about your paint and what look you want (ie wet and glossy or shiny and reflective) and I'll make some recommendations. :)

I'd seriously try the Menzerna Acrylic Jacket. For a little over £20 you'll get a true one-step polish+sealant that will make your paint look great and protect it for months on end, plus an excellent hand applicator pad that will help to remove defects and a good quality buffing towel. The finish it gives can be seen below...

It's not complicated at all. You simply squeeze a little onto the supplied applicator pad, work into the paint by rubbing until nearly dry, then buff with the supplied towel. In fact it's very easy, no different to any other last step product, and worth it for the finish it gives. And no, if you get it you won't need anything else. If you really think it will be too difficult then the other option is Menzerna FMJ, which is on special offer in the protect section at the moment. This contains the same sealant as Acrylic Jacket but none of the polishing particles... so it will only generate the shine, and won't shift any defects. It also comes as a kit with an applicator and a buffing towel. I'd personally stick with the Acrylic Jacket, as it will help to polish out some of the defects and give the same level of shine as FMJ. Trust me! :)

Cheers mate, order downloaded and packed already, will go with the courier today, should be with you tomorrow. We thought about PayPal, but the fees are too high. Instead we opted for Protx, who are the UK leaders in terms of the safe capturing of credit/debit card details. The beauty of the system is
that we never see your card details, and they are never stored electronically on our systems (the payment is approved in real time), meaning that there is virtually no way our customers details can fall into the wrong hands. We've been stung ourselves by online identity theft, something which made us think long and hard about what system to use on the site. :)
