gearbox and sus trouble?

im avin a few probs with me vtr, everytime i select a gear 1st-2nd for example, and i let the clutch out there is a knock or a ping noise it happens through every gear? also i have a pinging noise coming from the front suspension when i go over bumps or whatever. its coming from the drivers side for certain. any ideas??? any help would be appreciated!!!

Is your car lowered??



If so, the knocking is probably down to a common fault... one of the top anti roll bar type things (not sure of correct name) rubs on the power steering pipe.



You can see this if you look down from above... at the drivers side of the engine bay.. beside the inlet manifold.



See if thats been rubbing / knoicking?



As for gearbox, not sure.... I have something similar happen, but thats because my bottom engine mount is stuffed I thnk, and the engine is rocking.

i had that problem, the gearbox mounts were loose. once new mounts had been fitted it was ok. The gearbox mounts on the saxos are crap and do get very weak.

hmm pinging check neils ping noise thread it maybe some use to you, it may not but worth a try
