Hey,

I have been driving for a year now on my mums policy (Was Named driver) with Teco's insurance, I hit another car . And they made a claim and won.

And when it happened the insurance company, didnt really care who was driving the car.

Now when I go to get a quote on my insurance now on my own name, I dont know if I should tell them about the accident? or not?

Driving 1 year
No Points (Yet :P)
No Pass Plus
Postcode Area: 2a

If the insurance is that much I would go for a Quiky, but dont know if to go TPF&F or Fully Comp?

Thanks.

It always worth being honest when you take out a new policy, if you dont declare that you have had a previous accident you might get caught out in a future claim and they could if they feel, charge you a extra premium.
Its your choice if you tell them but if you dont you can get stung.
Trust me i deal with motor claims all day long.
All though tesco aren't bothered who was driving, this is only because you are a named driver, it doesn't mean that there is no record of you having a claim, insurers can always check a car out and see what its previous claims experiances are.
Depending on the cirrcumstances, it shouldn't cost you to much more by declaring it.
Hope this makes sense.

Ok, cheers mate.

Do you know any decent insurance companys that will give me a good price.

Beacuse of the "claim", I cant use online quotes and have to ring them up. I dont want to ring around 10 diff insurers :S.

Thanks.

beleive me mate its worth ringing around 50 insurers if you have to! if your car is only worth a few grand or less id go third party and just be carefull. it served me well for my first 4 years of driving.

fill out the online quotes without letting them know of the accident and then ring them and let them know about it. that way you can see how much it adds to your premium.

unless you have a big expensive car its prob not worth going fully comp until you can protect your no claims imo.
