until now as far as i have understood a driver can gain NCB for themselves on a car, n pass it onto their next car. but i read something the other day which has slightly confused me. if i was to have 2 cars, one which i've had for 5 years,n saved up full NCB n had another car for 2 years. does this mean that on my second car i have 2 years NCB as well as having full NCB on the first car?

because i am insured over my dad on my saxo. have been for 2 years now, but using all his 13 years NCB. does this mean that he has 2 extra years NCB on the saxo, which me and him could use still on the saxo, while using the other 13 on another car?

If your on your dads policy then you will have earnt nil NCB (zero).

i know i havn't earned any. but has my dad earned 2 years, which we could sue for the saxo, but use his original 13 on his other car?

if your a named driver then as far as i know you can't carry over the NCB, because you havent actually had your own insurance yet.

so when you get your own policy it will start at zero.

even if your dad is on your new insurance, as my dads on mine and has got a stupid amount i started with zero

bloody hell!!!! don't u understand my question! my dad has earned 2 years NCB on the saxo with me. is it possible for him to insure himself and me on the saxo again with a new policy using those 2 points? or are those 2 points added to his 13 point ncb? because he needs his points back for himself on his new car. and yes i know, i myself have NIL NCB because i have never been a policy holder.

so are you asking if i were to own 2 cars and be insured on both fully comp for 2 years would i earn 4 years no claims?? A big fat No you cant have no claims that go past the years of driving i dont think im guessing you mean while insuring you on the saxo you dad has also at the same space in time been insured on his own car??? not to sure how that would work but to be honest if the insurance ever found out you werent the main driver yet you were the sole driver your insurance would be VOID be a big boy and build your own legit!!! no claims
