Dentist tomorrow.
After 3 weeks of pain in my tooth, I finally gave in this afternoon and booked an appointment with a private dentist (not registered with an NHS one).
First place wanted to charge me £195 for a consultation and 'treatment to get me out of pain' - bloody ripp off. So i'm paying £56 for a consultation, then because my gums are infected I gotta pay for a prescription and then go back next week for the treatment.
Anyone else gone private before? Much better?
I'm pretty much shitting it to be honest, never been to dentist for *COUGH* 6 years *COUGH* because my teeth have always been in good condition, but too many 'Alcopops' i.e VK's, WKDs etc have taken there toll with sugar.
Wish me luck :A:

Not looking forward to it tbh. I have an 1/2 hour appointment today, so I know there is no treatment. My gums are killing this morning.
My own fault though, can't wait to be pain free though - think I need an MOT.

I fort all denetal healthcare was private now?
Anyways, I shit it all the time before the denist but havnt had any work done to them since i had my brace off like 7 year ago. Altho now i wouldnt mind them whiting, how much is that?
Altho i did polish off 36 bottles of orange lucozade off in 6 days. that led to really bad tooth ache for about 2 weeks and i still get it now.
Had to cut the luco out of the diet.

I am in the same boat. Had toothache on and off for a while and booked in the private one (had work done with him before mind). I have spent over 600£ now, had a shit load of filling and some other stuff, having the tooth out (its right at veryh back) on the 17th october, day before my birthday. I dont mind going to be honest but it costs a bomb, the guy is a very very very good dentist though.
toothache can lead to other shit so its best to get it sorted, last month or 2 i feel really tired alot, its either from gym or the tooth, i reckon its the tooth as one of the symtons of toothache is feeling generaly unwell, tired (Malaysia its called, think it means BAD in french or something)

Well I have been...!
Soon as I sat in the chair, I began to shit myself - I hate them so much.
Had a 'new' patient check up and X-Ray, the tooth that has been giving me a LOT of pain will need RCT (Root Canal Treatment) which costs £118 and then £20 for the filling afterwards, so for £29 that is coming out.
I need 3 other fillings, 1 quite big and 2 very small ones. I'm a quite pissed off because i'm nearly 19 years old, NEVER had one problem with my teeth nor a filling. I suppose it can't be helped, I brush my teeth like any other normal person but a mixture of drinking, sweets etc soon builds in.
So I have a quote of the following:
x4 Fillings
x1 Root Canal Treatment
x1 Scale & Polish
Total of £279
As I say, the tooth is coming out as my Mum and various people have said the RCT does hurt a lot, so after 3 fillings now instead of 4, one tooth removed and cleaned teeth - it will be around £120.
I just need to make the appointment now and yes, I'm shitting myself.

Yer get it pulled out over a root canal, if its a tooth in view root canal be best but if u can live without it and want the least pain, have it yanked out.
Whats scale and polish? my dentist has this thing for 275£ where they make a mould of ur teeth then u use this tray with bleech in ur mouth urself to make them whiten
