ive got a eastcoast how would i be able to tell if it has power steering

well the steering would be light and there would be a power steering pump in engine bay on the bottom right hand side with fluid in there

sit there with the engine on and turn the steering wheel if its easy then there you go!

do anyone have a pic of the power steering pump???when i bought my car the guy said there was no power steering bu the steerings really light and my uncle was over today and asked me was i sure it didnt have power steering wen he looked at the engine bay

No thats the brake fluid resevoir. The power steering fluid resevior is the one with the yellow cap on it, in front of the air filter, if you have one of those then you have power steering.

they dnt have power steering anyway it PAS power assisted steering , ud know if you had it turn it full lock and you should be able to hear the pump

The Eastcoast doesnt have power steering. It was an optional extra and unless whoever bought the car asked for it, i doubt very much you have it.

cant see the pump but steering quite light so its probable cause its a light enoug car

is it light when the car is still. You can't tell too much when the car is moving

it will have a resevoir for the steering fluid its on the left hand side, under the ecu on that picture anyway, mk2s are harder to find, there at the bottom of the engine but yours is a eastcoast so it dont matter lol

ye its light when still havent checked under the ecu ill give it a try when its not dark

FFS, its not hard to find out if your own car has PAS or not?!?!?!??!

west coasts are a 1.4 higher spec
east coasts are a 1.1 just a jazzy trim :P
older models had a black lid for the power assisted steering
