View Full Version : Abs and other little problems???

I have a 99vts and I do have abs, ALTHOUGH I have never seen an abs light on my dash at any time. Also on the odd occasion when breaking hard was needed, it tends to lock up and skid and kicks the arse end out like a b***h. I was wondering if there is any way of checking that the abs works apart from slamming on the ankers down an industrial site or does it just not work.
2. Also I have no reverse lights. I have checked all the fuses, connections to the light plate and I also got a voltmeter measuring the current to the bulb but there was nothing there. I have changed the bulbs but no joy. Any ideas?
3. Final one when driving sometimes I tend to lose power and have to stop. When I try to pull away it revs fine but there is no drive and it just bumps around. Usually when idling after this it will stall. When I start it up again it is as good as gold. Any ideas on this problem aswell?
Any help appreciated. Cheers

If i were you i'd have it checked out professionally. Might cost a few bob but would be worth it!

im guessing your car is lowered
as the reason for the back end stepping out is the compensator valve
as your car is lowered the valve thinks the car is full and has more weight in it so applys more pressure to the rear breaks then it needs

Peugeot Diagnosed my 106 with faulty ABS sensors. They had to disconnect them for now as they said faulty ones are more dangerous than having NO ABS at all!

Crazy, will cost £200 for the sensors and labour from the dealer.

Hope that helps bud.

Cheers for the help. Yea the cars lowered so that might be the cause of it. I will take it to the garage yet again. Cheers. Any ideas on the reverse light issue and the other one?
