Well yesterday after work i nipped home, grabbed some tools and a mate (i suppose he was a tool too ;)) and headed out to the workshops for a quick swap of the decat pipe for the cat.
Never happened!
Started raining heavily on the way home from work. When i arrived at the workshops the loading bays were full of stuff which had been delivered that day so i just squeezed the front of the car inside out of the rain. Managed to leave the lever for the jack at home. Lost a pin for an axel stand somewhere and the rusty bolts and nuts on the exhaust caused a heap of problems. Started work around 9pm. Finished about 1.30am.
Had a wee break and a cuppa and then went to clear up and head home.
Never happened!
The added weight of the cat meant the exhaust was hangining slightly lower and meant i couldnt get back down the ramp out of the loading bay. After much hassle and using planks of wood for tracks i got the car back outside. Locked up and began the journey home.
For 2 minutes, until i came to the first speedbump on the way out of the estate. The first bump is half the size of the next 2 and has gate posts either side so it was a straight on job. gave a nice slow roll over followed by a big long scrape and a big silver snail trail left over the bump. Feck.
Next bump i drove onto the swamp land and waded around it.
Last bump was worst of all with a tree on one side so i had to use the drive-on-the-grass method. Sadly with a meger inch clearence under the car the swamp proved a bit of trouble (damn rain) and i was soon grounded to a halt. Feck.
So between 3am and 3.30am ther was much rocking, revving, reversing, turning of wheels and braking branches off trees to stick around the wheels. Just as i was about to call it quits and set up camp for the night (well, not really, i was gonna fone a mate to toe me out ;)) i managed to get one wheel back on the tarmac and soon had the car out of the bog! One side of it looking like a well used rally car! :( (ill update with pics if im awake when i get home)
A nice calm drive home and straight to bed. Set my alarm for work and it kindly informed me it would wake me in 2 hours and 48 minutes time, Oh Joy.
So what did you guys get up2 last night? :)
P.S. if you think that took a long time to read, you should have been there last night :P
