I've been looking, as It's a small mod Id like to do. I've had a look at a few, and need a few opinions on combinations and numbers, if you will. :P

My names "Daniel Brownley", so obviously I want it to show "DAN B".
Just would like some feedback on what number goes best, I like 19 but thats only because its how old I was when I passed my test and got the car. :P

Cheers!

Danny what about the 18 one? - If you look tenuously enough, the 1 and 8 squashed together could look like a B, for your surname??

I really want LM 53 LOZ - initials, reg of car, nickname.

dannyjay
27th October 2006, 15:42
Lol, thats alot of squashing! Never thought of it though.

And that sounds like a good one! How much is that one Lozi?

Does anyone know the rules on registrations and year of the car. For example mines an X reg, does that mean any letter before the X I can have, aslong as it doesn't have 01/02/03 51/52/53 etc on it?

I like the 19 one!

i was looking at getting M155 ZOE, but then was informed i cant have it on the car cus of the 55 bit! DAMN!
Now looking at D17 VTR, d is my second name 17= age when i gt the car and when i passed, VTR = the car!

Thanks Danny, the one I'm looking at is £499 inclusive from DVLA.

I believe (and I'm no expert) that you can't make your car look newer than it is...so as yours is a "prefix-style" plate, you can't have a "new style" (51, 53, 06 etc) or a Y-reg prefix, hence all the combinations you posted are fine under my interpretation of the rules, as you're making out your car is a D-reg.

Something for the Xmas list?? :Y:

Ahhh, that makes sense now! Thankyou lozi!

Yeah, same price as mine. £500 is quite cheap, specialy for something as unique! I wouldn't mind it for the xmas list, but I might buy it my self on next payday, who knows. I'll have a play about with a few photoshops of it on the car, see if I want it badly, hehe!

Cheers for the help again lozi! :)

you not had any grief off the police for that yet mate?

you can only get a reg that is equal to the age of your car or lower danny so it would be X or below for you wouldnt it?

think i might end up getting a private plate if my next car ends up in the new regs i hate them so much

when i got caught speeding (i know, i know) they mentioned that they wasn't "legal" but they never actually told me to change them so i never have. apart from that theyve been on 3-4 months now and not had any bother.

Oooh, I found one that says "D15 BRO".

Is that better than "D19 ANB"?

Hmmm.

lozi_murias
28th October 2006, 12:52
The only problem with D15 is it looks like it says "DIS" (not sure of the relevance of that lol) and BRO reminds me of "brother" - so in my humble opinion i'd go for the original choice - although it's less obvious, it's more 'personalised' to you.

...Unless you've recently had a lottery win, in which case i'd go for a properly expensive one: DAN B1 or something would be awesome!!
