My Tax runs out on Tuesday of this week and after routing through my documents I have found that my MOT is also up tommorow.
Booked myself the earliest MOT I can which is this Saturday and I need my car for work.... I know I should of checked earlier on my MOT.
But what are the regulations now to driving your car? Is it a big No no and best to get bus to work till I get it all sorted?

You can't drive your car without a tax at all. As you have no MOT either you will not have any insurance as this makes it void so i would get the bus.

Still tax your car today then it's legal to drive to and from your MOT, and it's ready for when it's passes. Saves you faffing around and not being able to drive the car when it's passed its MOT
I've just realised how obvious that comment sounded
I've driven my car without MOT. It ran out the day I came back from New York and I went round my boyfriends house that night but never came back until past midnight so technically it was about 30 mins out of date. My excuse was that I was still on American time :P

When your tax runs out you have 14 days to get your new tax and it is ok to drive during the 14 days !!! Just no one realises (sp) this, MOT i am unsure of but i drove round for 2 months without MOT as i didnt realise it had ran out !

I always thought it was 14 days you were allowed to get it sorted and then after those 14 days if you havent declared it off the road you get an immediate £80 fine

When i crashed my old S i cancelled the tax right after. It sat for 2 months before i got round to declaring SORN. That DVLA computer spends its days posing for adverts and runing around the country. Its rarely in the office doing work ;)

When your car reahes 3 year old it needs one.....and you get it renewed once the MOT certificate expires (yearly)
