Well a couple of years ago (may 04) to be correct, my Father had a stroke whilst driving, luckily he was on a quiet street and just mounted the kerb and hit a tiny wall where he came to a stop...
Unfortunately it took away his speech, couldn't walk, partially def and lost the use of his right arm and was constantly confused, he hardly recognized me for months and months and would even sometimes ignore me when i went to visit...
After 6 months of being in a wheel chair in hospital the local council adapted his house so he could go home, I visited as often as i could and just made sure he could be as comfy as poss...
Well today i've had a phone call, My Dad has managed to walk 4ft with walking sticks, not much i know but maybe, just maybe he will get some of his freedom back!
Its the best news i've had since my daughter was born!
Fuckin brilliant infact!

That's great mate i'm sure he will get fully walking soon. I know it's not the same but i had a big accident in march 04 and was just the same mate, was in hospital for a couple of months and just like your dad couldn't walk, talk, remember anyone/ anything.
The doctor's said i would be in a wheelchair for the rest off my life as i couldn't walk and was paralysed down one side. But i'm allright now i still have brain damage and epilepsy but most people don't even notice now, i just have trouble remembering some things.
It takes time mate and i hope he makes a full recovery i'm happy to hear he is doing well dude, all the best mate John.

Daughter is fantastic mate, she puts light into my life and makes it even more exciting on the journey home, my girls (Helen is the mrs) are the best thing thats happened to me in a long time, herein my Dad is on the mend has made my day TBH, i've not had much time these past 4 weeks to go and see him for obvious reasons but will be up there later for sure!
Looking at him he's aged so much in two years with all thats gone off, seeing someone changing him like a baby isn't nice to see, but hopefully, fingers crossed that will soon be a thing of the past!
just noticed you live in chesire...................
My brother lives in Sale John, the posh bit!
